After welcoming the great Mexican architect and teacher, Alfonso Ramírez, the morning was dedicated to several lectures... Miguel Ramis offers a lecture about Mediterranean building traditions and techniques, followed by a lecture by Michael Ramage about his collaborative project in South Africa which uses the 'boveda tabicadas' or Catalan vaults as a sound, efficient solution for developing communities. The project included the use of local material and labor, which allowed the local laborers to learn the technique while still producing the building materials on-site. The afternoon finally allowed the students to get their hands dirty by starting their series of small projects lead by Miguel Ramis.
